Cleaning Tips for Businesses

Have you ever walked into a business and you could literally see the dust collecting everywhere? I certainly have and I won’t name any names here but I really wanted to get my duster out and clean.

The worst part of this so called “gift” for cleaning I have, is I can’t even go to a restroom without picking apart the details of how my company could clean better. I’ll name a few things I’ve seen. For starters, you cant just use any type of cleaner on stainless steel. It will leave streaks and not look appealing even though it might be clean. You know that build-up around the porcelain sinks or even granite sinks? I have news for you, It can come off with just a simple scrub.

One more thing, the sides of the toilet are something just have to be clean. I can’t tell you how many places I go to and see that the sides of the toilets are disgusting. Now that I’ve finished ranting about how places need help, here are some cleaning tips that might help you and your business.

  1. Stainless Steel- This word can freak people out a bit because it can be so hard to keep clean and it streaks so easily. If you use those wipes for stainless steel you will find that they leave a greasy film on even still look a little streaky. When cleaning stainless steel we use my Aromatherapy/glass cleaner spray along with Norwex purple cloth that is used for mirrors and shining up surfaces. This is perfect for a streak free clean and no film or residue left.
  1. Sinks- This method I use really applies to all types of sinks. It’s simple. I use a scotchbrite stainless steel scrubber and some chemical free dish soap. This combination removes water spots perfectly. I know that your wondering if this will leave scratches! but on some surfaces like porcelain, if you are gentle, it will not scratch at all. I have been using this method for years in my housecleaning business and I have always received positive feedback.
  1. Toilets- You are probably wondering how on earth you can clean those nasty toilets using all natural chemical free cleaner. My go to for the inside of the toilet is dish soap and washing soda then use the toilet brush and scrub away. This method works much better than even the Clorox toilet cleaner. For the outside of the toilet and Yes the sides of the toilet, I use my all purpose cleaner and paper towels. My cleaner, with its de-greasing qualities, works like magic and gets all dirt and grime off.
  1. Drinking Fountains- This is really a two step process. I use the dish soap and stainless steel scrubber to remove tough buildup. I follow this up with my aromatherapy/glass cleaner spray and shine up with Norwex purple cloth.
